Columbia Riverkeeper is hosting Spirit of the River, an event featuring local musical performers celebrating the Columbia River, at the Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River on Saturday, April 4th, 2009.

 

Spirit of the River features top Gorge musicians, poets, dancers, and storytellers performing interpretive pieces against a backdrop of spectacular photos of the Columbia Gorge from local photographers.

Artists including the Ben Bonham Quartet, One Hum featuring Richard Tillinghast and Tova Cochrane, Native storyteller Se-Ah-Dom Edmo, and other Gorge favorites will be performing throughout the evening.

Festivities begin with a wine and salmon hors d’oeuvre reception featuring the Chigwaya Youth Marimba Ensemble starting at 6:30pm.

Performers will take the stage from 7:30-9:00 pm.
