African Music
Enjoy an uplifting evening of African Music: Marimba, Mbira and Song featuring Sheasby Matiure, a talented, energetic musician from Zimbabwe.
Headlining the evening will be Boka Marimba, the high energy dance band from Portland. The concert will also include the captivating music of Njuzu Mbira and performances by two local favorites, Marimba Musango and Chigwaya Marimba.
Marimba and Mbira music mix infectious melodies with powerful grooves that will make you want to get up and move. Don’t miss this great opportunity to hear the sounds of Africa in Hood River!
Arts and Crafts Sale 
Arts and crafts from Zimbabwe will be for sale, including world famous Shona stone sculpture, wall hangings, paintings and other authentic African items.
Coral Singing Workshop
Learn to sing beautiful choral/gospel music from Southern Africa in 4 part harmony taught by Dr. Sheasby Matiure, visiting choral director from Zimbabwe.

- A Musical Celebration and Arts Sale: 7 to 11 pm
- African Choral Singing Workshop: 10 am to noon.

Music and Art Show: Suggested Donation - $15 - Students $5 – Children 12 & under free with adults.

Who Benefits from ZimAid - Hood River
All proceeds from the concert and sale will go to Oregon based, non-profit organizations working in Zimbabwe. Information about these organizations, their projects and the current conditions in Zimbabwe will be available.
The people of Zimbabwe are suffering from unchecked political corruption and economic collapse. Millions face starvation everyday. Their need is great and their spirit is strong!!! You can help by attending the concert, enjoying the great music and purchasing some unique art work.
