Misty River

Described by Victory Review as “one of the Pacific Northwest’s finest groups,” the acoustic Americana band MISTY RIVER will celebrate its tenth anniversary and the release of its fifth album STORIES with a special matinee concert.

Although Misty River's music is often compared to the neo-bluegrass style of Alison Krauss and the harmonies of The Trio (Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton), these four women have a sound all their own, fusing the band's award-winning songwriting and compelling vocal harmony with their distinctive acoustic instrumentation of accordion, fiddle, guitar, banjo, ukulele, mandolin and upright bass. For this concert, Misty River will explore the music of Appalachia, China, Ireland and the American South as well as share songs and stories from of their own lives.

They will be featured on OPB's ArtBeat in May ( Thursday May 17th at 8pm & Sunday, May 20th at 6pm ).
