In 2004 Portlander Brian Eustis chronicled the first-ever complete navigation of the Mekong River from its source in Tibet, to the South China Sea. The film vividly explores and celebrates the diverse cultures and environments of the Mekong valley. The story also weaves in the tapestry of the impending human-rights abuses committed throughout the region and the impact of environmental degradation on the region's subsistence cultures. This film was a finalist at the 2006 Banff Film Festival and was chosen to be a part of the international tour.
